If you have an air fyer or a Ninja Foodi Grill, I highly recommend it to make these smashed potatoes. It is very quick and you can check on it without putting on oven mitts every single time.
In this post, I am going to discuss how to make crispy smashed potatoes in the Ninja Foodi Grill.
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS

For this recipe, I used gold baby potatoes. Baby potatoes are perfect for this recipe because their skin is soft. They also have a buttery texture that make them perfect for smashed potatoes and also for baked potatoes recipes.
Russet potatoes are also another good option however they are slightly larger than baby potatoes so they may take slightly longer to cook!

Don't worry about the availability of the ingredients for this recipe! The following ingredients could easily be grabbed off the shelves at your nearest grocery store. You won't believe how these every day ingredients could turn a bland and simple potato into a crispy and delicious smashed potato side dish!

- 2 cups plain greek yoghurt

TIPS & TECHNIQUES
Not enough crisp? The secret to making your baby potatoes crispy is an even coat of olive oil and the right temperature (hot, hot, hot!). The oil heats up the outsides of the potato, making them crispy!
Space them out! One common mistake is to have too little space between the potatoes. Either have less potatoes per batch or use a larger tray. You wouldn't want to feel the widely uneven texture in your mouth as you enjoy the roasted smashed potatoes, would you?
Evenly spread your spices! Grab your onion powder, garlic powder, Kosher salt and black pepper and mix them in a small bowl before sprinkling on the potatoes. You'd want to make sure that all your potatoes get their fair share of the spices!
HOW TO STORE / STORAGE TIPS
Want to save some for later? Store your smashed potatoes in an airtight container. You can leave them in the refrigerator for up to four days. Reheat using the Ninja Foodi Grill for a few minutes to make them crispy again!
PAIRING SUGGESTIONS
Pair with savory meals! Roasted baby potatoes go well with foods such as marinated pork chops, grilled steak and roasted chicken. If you have a Ninja Foodi Grill, you don't need any other equipment to prepare these meals!
Wash it down with a cold drink! Having a glass of wine or even a regular fruit juice after enjoying a plate of roasted baby potatoes is definitely a satisfying experience. If you wish, pair it with cold beer as a snack!
VARIATIONS
Mix it up! You can have fun and be creative with this recipe. Add herbs such as parsley, basil, chives or thyme! You can also add butter into the mix! Along with the olive oil, adding butter will definitely make your potatoes crispier! Don't let their size fool you—let your baby potatoes be a wonderful culinary experience.
Make it vegan! Swap out the Greek yoghurt from this recipe with soy-based yoghurt. If you're feeling adventurous, you can also try almond milk yoghurt, cashew-based yoghurt, pili nut yoghurt, oat milk yoghurt and flax milk yoghurt! It's up to you which vegan yoghurt alternative would work best!
Bring out the cheese wheel! Other than white cheese, you may add any kind of cheese to your liking. Mozzarella, cheddar, parmesan? It's on you! Just make sure to add them in the last 10 minutes so as not to burn them.
